Oakland’s teachers have made a decision…they are putting their livelihoods on the line in the fight to save the neighborhood schools our children attend.

The Oakland School District’s tactic of threatening to close schools is no different than Trump’s government shutdown hostage taking.

The Alameda Labor Council will join the teachers’ picket lines.  We will keep our kids out of school.  We will build community and political support.  And we will win.
