Alameda Labor Council participates in Town Hall discussion with Congressional Caucus on Black Women & Girls

Continuing their tireless efforts to represent issues important to women and labor, Liz Ortega, Executive Secretary-Treasurer and Yvonne Williams, President, Alameda Labor Council and ATU 192, were part of a town hall panel for the Congressional Caucus on Black Women & Girls this past Saturday, October 13th.  The town hall discussion focused on advancing opportunities for women of color in the health, environmental justice, and technology industries and held at Congresswoman Barbara Lee’s Science and Allied Health Center.  The panel featured testimony from members of Congress, including Representatives Barbara Lee, Gwen Moore and Robin Kelly.

The Congressional Caucus on Black Women & Girls was founded to elevate the power of black women and to build support  for initiatives and policies that empower black women and girls.
