Practice Picket

Union members throughout Alameda County join Teamsters Local 70 at today’s practice picket at the Oakland UPS hub.

The Alameda Labor Council stands in solidarity with the hardworking UPS Teamsters who are currently fighting for a fair and just contract.

These dedicated workers are the backbone of our communities, ensuring that packages are delivered on time and keeping our economy running smoothly. They deserve to be treated with respect and dignity, and their voices must be heard!

After three months of little progress at the bargaining table, leaders from each affiliated Local in the Coalition Of Kaiser Permanente Unions personally handed KP management info picket notices for 50 locations in California and three other Western States.

At the most recent bargaining session this month, the “non-profit” which pays its CEO over $16 million a year and 48 other executives over $1 million a year gave a clear message to the California KP Environmental Services worker making $48k a year: “You make too much money.”

Members of SEIU-UHW, OPEIU 29 and IFPTE 20 are leading informational pickets this week at KP hospitals as they prepare to submit their full economic proposal to management during their next contract bargaining session on August 1st.
